The Royal Caribbean ride — exactly how it goes.
After you debark from Royal Caribbean's Terminal A, we'll be waiting at the pickup point in your confirmation. Most lines clear customs and walk-off between 7:30am and 10:30am — pick a pickup slot that gives you a 30-minute cushion. From PortMiami to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Intl. Airport (FLL) is 35–45 minutes north on I-95 on most weekday mornings.

Plan your timing.
- On debarkation day, guests who carry their own bags usually walk off first; if you put your luggage outside your cabin the night before, you'll be called later in groups. Tell us which you are when you book and we'll set the pickup slot to match.
- For your flight home from FLL, the safe choice is a departure after 12:30pm. That covers a slow debark, customs and the 35–45 minute run up to FLL, with time left for security.
- Late flight? Use the day: besides the transfer we run private tours by the hour (from $75/hr, 2-hour minimum) with your bags on board, and drop you at FLL in time.
The drive.
FLL sits about 25–28 miles north of the port. The route runs south on I-95 to I-395 / the MacArthur Causeway, then Port Boulevard. That's 35–45 min in normal traffic and longer at rush hour (7–9am and 4–6pm).
Royal Caribbean tips.
Royal Caribbean's Terminal A (“The Crown of Miami”, opened 2018) handles ships like Icon, Wonder and Allure of the Seas. Some ships, such as Freedom and Independence of the Seas in late 2026, board at the MSC Terminal AA complex instead — check your boarding pass. Keep your boarding pass from the Royal Caribbean app and your passport handy as you step out of the vehicle — it's the first thing the terminal asks for.
