Average drive from MIA to Norwegian Cruise's Terminal B is 15–20 minutes on a calm day; on Saturday cruise mornings, plan for an extra 10–15 minutes of buffer.

Plan your timing.
- When you check in through the NCL app, Norwegian Cruise gives you an arrival time slot for the terminal. Plan to reach Terminal B 15–30 minutes before that slot: from MIA that means leaving the curb about 37 minutes ahead, or 52 on a Saturday morning.
- Flying in on sailing day? Pick a flight that lands at least 3–4 hours before all-aboard time. If your flight lands late or the weather looks doubtful, arriving in Miami the day before is the safer call — and we pick up from hotels too.
- From MIA the drive is short, so the real variable isn't the highway — it's the queue of cars into the port on Saturdays between 10am and noon. That's where a driver who knows the terminal saves you time.
The drive.
MIA and PortMiami are about 8–9 miles apart. The usual route runs east on the Dolphin Expressway (SR-836), onto I-395 / the MacArthur Causeway and over Port Boulevard onto the port island. That's 15–20 min in normal traffic.

Norwegian's Terminal B, “The Pearl of Miami”, welcomed its first guests in August 2021. A few sailings (some Jewel, Joy and Sun dates) use Terminal C instead — check your boarding pass. If you're one of the The Haven guests on Norwegian Cruise, tell us when you book — you have priority boarding and we'll time your arrival to it. Keep your boarding pass from the NCL app and your passport handy as you step out of the vehicle — it's the first thing the terminal asks for.
